Beschreibung:
This book is by and about Indigenous feminists, whose work demonstrates a powerful and original intellectual and political contribution demonstrating that feminism has much to offer Indigenous women in their struggles against oppression and for equality. Indigenous feminism is international in its scope: the contributors here are from Canada, the USA, Sapmi (Samiland), and Aotearoa/New Zealand. The chapters are divided into three parts: 1. the theory of Indigenous feminism, 2. particular political areas and issues where Indigenous feminism and feminists played a role, 3. individual Indigenous feminists who talk both about their particular political struggles and about their feminism.
