| The links between gender, trade and development are increasingly being recognised. This publication was developed out of a series of regional workshops and explores the different impacts of trade on women and men. It provides practical guidelines on how to use trade opportunities to further development, alleviate poverty and promote gender equality. It also suggests ways to get gender on to the international trade agenda. The book can be used by trainers or for self-study. It includes case studies, activities, training suggestions and recommended readings. It will enable people to take action and adapt what is learned to their own context and requirements. The publication aims to create awareness of the implications of gender issues for trade policy-makers and export promotion officials with the goal of integrating gender analysis into policy. It also presents options for women producers and workers to take advantage of new economic opportunities on more favourable terms. | |
