| Singapur ist eines der wenigen asiatischen Länder, in denen Homosexualität nach wie vor kriminalisiert wird. Gleichzeitig findet eine kulturelle Liberalisierung statt, sodass Singapur zu einer schwulesbischen Metropole Asiens geworden ist. Ausgehend vom Konzept des "illiberalen Pragmatismus" untersuchen die Autor_innen den Einfluss von Homosexualität auf Medienkultur und politische Ökonomie in den Bereichen Religion, Recht, Militär, Literatur, Theater, Photographie, Kino, Social Media und queerem Kommerz. Sie zeigen, dass Pragamtismus durchaus eine passende Form sozialer und kritischer demokratischer Aktion sein kann und dass kulturelle Bürger_innenschaft durch die Logik queerer Kompliz_innenschaft mitgeformt wird.
