Beschreibung:
Luz Marina Bernal is one of the “Mothers of Soacha” - a group of mothers whose sons disappeared. Luz Marinas son was the first case of what in Colombia is called “false positives”. She and the other mothers have received multiple threats for their denunciation work. But that did not stop them to take part in the past peace agreements between the Colombian government and the former FARC guerrillas in Havana, Cuba as one of the participating groups of victims. Nevertheless, she rejected the nomination for the 2016 Nobel Peace Prize together with Juan Manuel Santos. These days, Luz Bernal is currently participating with other women, victims of the armed conflict in Colombia, in the play “Antígonas, a women’s court”, with which she has toured through the Americas and Europe. Jenny Olaya-Peickner talked to her about being a woman in the midst of the violence in Colombia.
